As an experienced Early Childhood Educator with over 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of educational settings, Bertina High has turned her love for teaching and her love for children into a safe place where children can come live, laugh, learn, and grow.

As an experienced Early Childhood Educator with over 25 years of teaching experience in a variety of educational settings, Bertina High has turned her love for teaching and her love for children into a safe place where children can come live, laugh, learn, and grow.
Higher Hopes Tutoring provides an engaging and interactive learning environment for students. Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication and classroom management skills, Bertina excelled as a veteran in childhood education. Prior to being a full-time teacher within Baltimore County Public Schools, she owned and operated Bernice Angels Childcare Center for 17 years.
After the need to restructure due to the Covid Pandemic, Bertina decided that the time was now to focus on achieving her goals. Bertina has a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Administration. With that foundation, she has decided to open Higher Hopes Tutoring to get back to what she does best, teach children.
When Bertina isn’t teaching your little ones, you may find her doing a little shopping or spending time with her daughter and two grandsons who are the light of her life.

She works closely with each student to develop a customized learning plan that meets their unique needs and helps them achieve their goals.
